Ceramic art comes alive at the Armory Show 2024, an annual global art event at New York City’s Javits Center. From September 6–8, over 235 galleries from 35 countries gather to captivate collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts. Among the remarkable selection of contemporary art, ceramics holds a prominent place, showcasing works from both emerging and established artists in a diverse and vibrant display of this ever-evolving medium.
This year, ceramics lean heavily toward conceptual sculptures, with notable contributions from artists like Anina Major, Elif Uras, Ry Rocklen, Cammie Staros, Sarah Dwyer, Sara Siestreem, Cybele Rowe, and Zizipho Poswa. These striking pieces make a powerful impression across the Armory's key sections: Galleries, Focus, Solo, and Presents. In this article, we spotlight 25 of the most compelling galleries that highlight ceramicists at the fair, celebrating the creativity and innovation shaping the contemporary ceramic landscape.
